Overview
This article explains how MNSU faculty and staff can use ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus, the university’s patch management system, to keep university asset-tagged computers up to date.
ManageEngine Manager
ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus is the patch management system for all University Asset Tagged Machines. The software will scan your computer for missing software patches for various applications such as Microsoft Windows, macOS, Microsoft Office, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and other applications. This will help keep your computer secure and fix other issues these pieces of software might have.
Windows:
- If ManageEngine has applied any updates that requires your computer to restart, your computer will show you a notification in the bottom right-hand corner.
- In the notification window choose Restart Now or Postpone Restart, then click on Ok.
- Note: If you choose to postpone restart it will offer the option to postpone the update window for up to 4 hours. Your computer will automatically reboot after 48 hours from the time the server pushed the updates.
Manage Engine is not on OS
Microsoft Office:
If you are using any of the Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. you may receive a notification for Configuration is Pending. This process does not require a restart, but it does require that Office products are closed. You can choose to Skip the process or Start Now. If you start the process you will want to keep any Microsoft Office applications closed until it tells you it has finished installing the updates for you.
