Timesheet Lock/Unlock

Summary

The article explains the new automated process for unlocking timesheets in Workday, supervisor notifications for post-process changes, and the locked payroll processing period, along with training resources.

Body

What is the process for unlocking timesheets if changes are necessary?
There is no more manual unlock. Employees will no longer need to complete the Employee Timesheet Unlock Request Form to have their timesheet unlocked for a prior pay period. The unlock process will now happen systematically after Payroll has completed processing. At present we understand that timesheets will be locked automatically on Tuesdays (pay period end date) at 11:30 a.m. and unlocked on Thursdays at 12:00 a.m. The employee must wait until the period unlocks to make any required changes.

Will supervisors/ manager get a notification if an employee makes changes after process?
Yes, the supervisor/manager will receive a notification. Reapproval will be required.

Will there still be a locked payroll processing period?
Workday will still have a locked payroll processing period when only timekeepers and time administrators will have the ability to make changes.
