Welcome to Fall 2026 - Navigate360!
Overview
Please see the following information for IMPORTANT Updates and Reminders about the Navigate360 system to help you with your work for Fall 2026.
MavCONNECT is now Navigate360!
We have transitioned our system name from MavCONNECT (long beloved) to Navigate360! However, we anticipate that there will be faculty and staff who continue to use MavCONNECT terminology throughout this fall, which is fine - we will all get transitioned at some point! What is most important to remember is that Navigate360 is the SAME THING as MavCONNECT! There is only one system.
Why did the name transition? Students generally only know the system as Navigate (or Navigate360) because that is what the Student app is called, and we are unable to rebrand it as MavCONNECT. We were not aware of this limitation when we launched this version in August of 2023. We also wanted to retain the good reputation and name recognition that MavCONNECT had built up over the years.
However, after launching the Navigate version, it became apparent that students were calling it Navigate360, and faculty and staff were calling it MavCONNECT, and the two names created confusion. Hence, the decision to transition fully to Navigate 360 now.
Website Updates: You may have noticed that our website now reflects the new name: Navigate360, but also includes "(MavCONNECT)". For the time being, we will continue to tie them together on our website and in key communications so that all parties are aware that they are one system.
New "Help" Email: Along with the name change, we have updated our "Help" email! We are now navigate360@mnsu.edu. Please use this email to send in your system tickets, questions, etc.
Navigate360 Resources Web Page - Transition to Team Dynamics
We have transitioned our Navigate360 (MavCONNECT) Resources website to Team Dynamics. Moving forward, please use the Team Dynamics page to access all Navigate360 resources, guides, and support materials. The Team Dynamics page will serve as the primary location for updated documentation and new resources. As additional guides and materials are developed, they will be added directly to the Team Dynamics site.
Please refer to the Team Dynamics Navigate360 Resources page (Navigate360 resources website) for all of your Navigate360 for the most current information, guide needs, and resources.
New Items / Updates in Navigate360
- New Tag - Transfer Liaison SCC - if you see this tag on a student's profile, it means that our Transfer Liaison Specialist (a joint position between SCCC and MSU) has been working with this student.
- Alerts - The added new functionality to ad hoc Alerts: the ability to include comments on the Alert in the email sent to the student. To do this, users need permission (for the Care Unit OR for non-Care Unit Alerts), and the Alert Reason must trigger an email sent to the student.
- Calendar Sync- Staff users may now sync their Office365 calendar to Navigate360 sites.
- New Procedures and Instructions are forthcoming for Adding a Student to Navigate360: Prospective Students and Reenrollment Students
- For now, please do NOT add any Reenrollment/Stopped Out Students to the system.
- Please use the Returning Student Intake Form to route these students to the Department of Student Success for follow-up.
- You can continue to send to navigate360@mnsu.edu requests to merge student files as you come across them. I will review them and get back to you.
- Campus Hub "Referral" This feature has now been deployed widely for assigned advisors, professional academic advisors, and student success support areas.
Reminders for Navigate360
- Data in Navigate: We have daily imports of data from ISRS, but there still is a delay of 1 -3 days from when data is entered into ISRS to when it is viewable in Navigate. If you are working with a student who indicates that they registered or changed a major, etc., and it's not yet reflected in Navigate, ask them when they made the change. If it's been more than 3 days, put in a ticket to navigate360@mnsu.edu so that we can look at the data.
- Clear Filters - Conversations:
- When viewing a Student's Profile/Conversation tab, looking at emails sent from the Navigate system, "CLEAR All Filters and Sorts" to see ALL of the emails being sent. If you do NOT clear all sorts/filters, then you will not see system-automated emails being sent. This function is now found under the three lines option to the right of the search bar:

- IGNORE the "read status" column under the student conversations tab as this column does NOT accurately reflect whether or not a student has opened/read an email sent from the system. We are not able to permanently turn off this column for viewing, hence this reminder. You can choose to turn off the visibility of this column, but you need to do that every time you go into a student's conversation tab, so we recommend you learn to ignore it
- Active Students in Navigate:
- Undergraduates: Any newly admitted (NEF or TRF cohorts) UG student will enter Navigate once they are admitted and added to the NEF / TRF cohorts.
- Graduate Students: Any newly admitted graduate student will enter Navigate AFTER they register for courses
- Students who have stopped out / do not have an active current or future registration: May not have access to the Student Navigate system. Staff may still see student profile information, but many data points are NOT updated unless they are actively registered for a current or future term.
- Reminder that it will take one to three days to have new students enter Navigate after course registration or cohort add.
- MavCONNECT 2.0 Teams Site - Please TURN ON your notification for this Teams site (if you have access to it) as I will continue to add advisors and student support area staff to this site, and will continue to use it to publish general updates/insights and IMP/time Sensitive system information.
- Go to the General Channel, and "turn on notifications"

For Professional Advising Areas Only
Appointment Summary - Please Complete the "Current Advisor" Section for EVERY SUMMARY
Last spring we added two questions to the Professional Advising Appointment Summary Template that we ask ALL professional advisors to complete for EVERY appointment summary. This will allow us to best track the advisor at the time of the appointment, as the Navigate360 system does NOT retain advisor history or changes of advisor within a term - it only ever tracks the current advisor. Tracking it at the appointment summary level will allow us to pull end-of-term data with more accurate figures for Advisor Assignment at the point of the appointment and across the term. Click on the screenshot for details.
Note:
- Check the student's success team (on the lower right side of their Student Profile/Overview page) to see who their advisor is if you are uncertain. You can also check ISRS.
- The answer to BOTH questions could be "Yes" or "No"

New Service - "Email Advising"
- The UA has developed and deployed a NEW service built for tracking "Email Advising". Please see your Supervisor/Student Advising Director for direction on when and how to use this service and note the following tips.
- Do NOT use this service when building Availability. It will ONLY be used via the "Report on Appointment" function.
- When using this service, the Meeting Type should ALWAYS be "Email Advising (ROA Use Only)
- Talk with your supervisor to ensure you are using the service in the way it was intended.
