Overview
The article will cover types of course repeats, transfer credit repeats, and a link to information about how repeats affect financial aid.
Undergraduate Course Repeats
If you take a non-repeatable course more than once, the highest grade will replace the lowest grade in your GPA. This happens at the end of each term or during transfer evaluations.
- Non repeatable Course: A course that only counts once for credit, even if you take it again.
- Repeatable Course: A course you can take multiple times for credit (like internships or special topics). These courses do not qualify for GPA replacement.
Transfer Credits and Course Repeats
Course repeats can only be processed for courses that are the direct equivalent of a previous course. Course substitutions/exceptions are NOT equivalents. Most transfer credit repeats will be applied when the course is going through the transfer evaluation process. Students can also use the Course Repeat Form to submit a course repeat for review.
Financial Aid and Repeated Courses
Federal financial aid regulations limit the number of times an undergraduate student may repeat a course and receive financial aid for that course. More information about the financial aid policy for repeat courses is available on the Campus Hub website.
