Body

New Hire- Access to Self Service

Within two to three weeks after an employee's start date, they will receive an email from noreply@minnstate.edu to their MSU email account providing them with their State ID/SEMA4 ID to access the Employee Self-Service. This will give them access to their payroll information including direct deposit set-up, W-4, W-2 and pay-stubs.

New Hire Benefits Onboarding Sessions

Benefit eligible employees will receive an email invitation to attend the New Hire Benefits Orientation meeting. Benefits will become effective on the 31st calendar day.

If not able to attend in person, online options are available.

Benefits Enrollment

Employees can enroll on the Employee Self-Service or through the Benefits Enrollment Packet MMB’s State Employee Group Insurance Program (SEGIP) sends to the employee's home address on file. If employees don’t elect, or waive benefits during their new hire/rehire period they will be default enrolled in single medical coverage, and basic life insurance. If there are any questions on what employees can enroll in as a MN State Employee please visit the SEGIP website here Insurance Benefits / State of Minnesota (mn.gov).

Departments that typically present include:

  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Equal Opportunity and Title IX
  • IT Solutions
  • University Security

If employees are unable to attend in person, virtual options are available.
