First, set-up Grades in your course. Then, associate or link Grade items to Quizzes.

Associate Grades with Quizzes

First, turn on the New Quiz Editing and Creation Experience:

1. Edit the Quiz.
2. If needed, turn on the New Quiz Editing and Creation Experience:
   1. Click the tab in the top right corner to expand the quiz experience selector.
   2. Click the Turn it on button.

Then, follow the steps to associate the Quiz with a grade item:

1. Edit the Quiz.
2. Add Quiz questions to the quiz first. This assures that the Quiz total points and Grades total points match.
3. Then click the Not in grade book menu in the top left.
   1. Click Edit or link to existing if you wish to link a grade item that is already in Grades with the quiz.
   2. Click Add to gradebook if you wish to create a grade item and link that new item with the quiz.
4. If you selected Edit or link to existing:
   1. Select the Link to an existing grade item option.
   2. Select the existing grade item you wish to link to the quiz from the drop down menu.
   3. Click Ok.
5. Click the Save and Close button to save the Quiz.
