Creating Recordings in MediaSpace

Overview

Use Kaltura Capture to record your screen, webcam, or audio and upload directly to MediaSpace.

Who this is for: Students, faculty, and staff
You’ll need: Your StarID and password, a computer with a microphone (and camera, if using webcam)

How-To

Instructions

1. Navigate to https://mediaspace.minnstate.edu
2. Login using your StarID and Password
   • Username (Students): StarID@go.minnstate.edu
   • Username (Employees): StarID@minnstate.edu
   • Password: Your StarID password
3. Click the Add New button
4. Click Kaltura Capture

• This will download a recorder

5. Find the window entitled Kaltura Capture on your computer
6. Click an option on the RECORD tab to begin a recording

• SCREEN - This option will record your computer screen as well as audio through your microphone
• WEBCAM - This option will record your webcam and audio through your microphone
• VOICE - This will only record audio through your microphone

7. A 5 second countdown will begin before Kaltura Capture begins recording

8. When finished recording, click Done
9. An editor for the recording will appear. Make edits, and when you are done click Save & Upload
10. Enter a title for your recording
11. Click Upload

Outcome

Your recording has been successfully saved and uploaded to Kaltura.
