How do I report a spam or phishing email? 

Overview

Microsoft Outlook for Windows

There are two ways to report a phishing/spam email in Microsoft Outlook for Windows.

Option 1:

CTRL-ALT-F

1. Highlight the spam or phishing message, then type CTRL-ALT-F to create a new message with the spam or phishing message attached.
2. Send the new message to spam@mnsu.edu.

Option 2:

Report Message Button:

Another feature in Microsoft Outlook for Windows is the Report Message button in the Toolbar.

1. Highlight the spam or phishing e-mail, then click the Report Message button.
2. Select the appropriate category for the message (Junk or Phishing).

Microsoft Outlook for macOS

There are two ways to report a phishing/spam email in Microsoft Outlook for macOS.

Option 1:

CTRL-CMD-J

1. Highlight the spam or phishing message, then type CTRL-CMD-J to create a new message with the spam or phishing message attached.
2. Send the new message to spam@mnsu.edu.

Option 2:

MavMAIL / Office 365 Outlook Web Access

1. Click on New Message and then drag the spam/phishing email to the body of the new email.
2. Send it to spam@mnsu.edu.
