Fixing a DVD Player that is not Working

Issue Description 

The Blu Ray player in a classroom is not playing the disk or does not appear to be responding when attempting to use it for presentation. 

Possible Causes 

  • The incorrect input source is selected on the touch panel 
  • The DVD player is powered off 
  • Playback has not been started from the correct control 
  • The DVD disc is damaged or incompatible 

Environment 

State-Owned Devices: Classroom technology equipment provided and managed by Minnesota State University, Mankato. 

Resolution 

  1. Verify you have selected DVD on the touch panel 
  1. Verify the DVD player is turned on (You should see a blue light coming from the front of the DVD player) 
  1. Press play on the touch panel 
  1. Press play on the DVD player 
  1. Verify your DVD is in good working condition
