Closing dates for residence communities during breaks

Winter Break: 

  • Residence communities close for Winter Break at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 10 (food service ends at 1:30 p.m.).
  • During Winter Break, students are not allowed access to the residence communities unless prior arrangements have been made with Residential Life.
  • Students found staying in the residence communities during Winter Break who did not register will be charged for the full rate plus an administrative fee and may be subject to disciplinary proceedings.
  • Winter Break registration will be available in November.
  • The residence communities will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024 for the Spring Semester.
     

Spring Break:

  • Communities will close for Spring Break at 7 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2024. The last meal will be served in the University Dining Center until 6 p.m. that evening.
  • Residence communities reopen at noon Sunday, March 10, 2024. The first meal served in the University Dining Center will be dinner beginning at 4:30 p.m.
  • Register in the Housing & Dining Portal to stay in your room over Spring Break.
  • There is no charge to stay on campus during Spring Break.
  • Non-registered students found in the residence communities over Spring Break will be charged an administrative fee of $50 and may be subject to disciplinary proceedings.
  • Registered students will be able to use their MavCARD to unlock specified doors in the buildings.
