Advanced Placement
Please use the Advanced Placement Course Equivalency guide to determine number of credits and MSU, Mankato coursework awarded based on Placement Exam score. Often Advanced Placement (AP Scores) are not reported to the Registrar’s Office until mid-summer. As result, you may not know your exact score when attending your Advising and Registration session. In that case, you’ll work with an advising professional to determine course selection and adjust as needed once AP Scores have been reported.

International Baccalaureate (IB)
Please use the International Baccalaureate (IB) guide to determine number of credits and MSU, Mankato coursework awarded based on original IB examination scores. Please note: Students may earn specific University course credits by demonstrating a specified level of performance on selected higher level (HL) and/or standard level (SL) standardized IB examinations taken prior to enrolling at the University. Students must forward IB examination scores to the University to initiate the credit review process.
Military Credits (DSST Dantes Exam)
Veterans, upon admission, may be granted academic credit for formal military schools attended including a passing score of DANTES CLEP/DSST exam. Please refer to our Military Transfer Credit page for more information.
Post-Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO)
PSEO and Concurrent Enrollment credits will be evaluated on an individual basis. Official transcripts from each post-secondary institution issuing college credit are required for credit evaluation. Students are responsible for contacting the registrar from their PSEO or Concurrent Enrollment institution (unless attending a Minnesota State institution) and have the transcripts sent to:
