Eligibility for Optional Practical Training (OPT)

To be eligible for OPT, you must:

• be graduating in 90 days 
• be in valid F-1 status
• have been enrolled in a full course of study for one academic year or will complete one academic year by the date the OPT approval begins
• have not been authorized for 365 days or more of full-time CPT
• have not previously completed 12 months of OPT at the same degree level
