Overview
This article explains how instructors can associate a rubric with a discussion topic in D2L Brightspace and use the rubric to grade student participation. Rubrics help ensure consistent evaluation and provide structured feedback for discussion-based activities.
Once a rubric is attached to a discussion topic, it can be used during the grading process.
How-To
- Navigate to Discussions.
- Click the drop down arrow next to the discussion topic name.
- Click Edit Topic.
- Click the Evaluation & Feedback widget to expand it and view options.
- Click Add Rubric, then Add Existing.
- Check the box next to the Rubric you wish to add, then click Add Selected
- Click Save and Close to save your changes.
Outcome
After completing these steps, the rubric will be attached to the discussion topic and available for use when grading student discussion posts.
