Yes, the search box can search your archived folders as long as you select the correct settings. 

 

How to search the online archive in Outlook:

  1. Select 'All Mailboxes' in the Outlook desktop client. 
  2. Type your search terms in the search bar. 
  3. Click magnifying glass icon. 

 

How to search the online archive in Outlook Web Access:

  1. Go to Outlook Online
  2. Select a folder from the Archive Mailbox
  3. click the drop-down box in the search window
  4. Select 'All Folders'
  5. Type your search terms in the search bar. 
  6. Click magnifying glass icon.
