About Office 365 Shared Tenant Email Send Limits
Sending limits for Students and Alumni email accounts in the Office 365 Shared Tenant:
- 100 external (i.e., out-of-tenant) e-mails sent within any 1 hour period
- 500 internal (i.e. inside-of-tenant) e-mails sent within any 1 hour period
- 1500 total e-mails sent within any 24 hour period
Maximum attachment size for Students using MavMAIL: 35MB
Maximum attachment size for Students using Outlook: 150MB
Maximum attachment size for Alumni using MavMAIL: 35MB
Maximum mailbox size for Students: 100GB
Maximum mailbox size for Alumni: 50GB
Rationale
The purpose behind reducing sending limits is to help limit the ability of compromised accounts to inflict harm to other user accounts. It will additionally reduce necessary cleanup time and efforts after a phishing attack has occurred.
