This article is for faculty to inform them about the recent retirement of course email addresses and provides guidance on an alternative tool.
Retirement of Course Email Addresses
Historically, the System Office supported a service that provided a unique email address for every course, used for faculty email communication with students. This service was retired in spring 2026 and the System Office no longer supports it. Retiring this service was an important part of improving security and reducing risk.
As an alternative, faculty should use the email tool in D2L Brightspace to communicate with students.
