How-To
NOTE: Free version of Malwarebytes cannot be used at MSU. If you have a state asset and think you may have malware on your device, please Contact IT Solutions.
To download Malwarebytes for your personal device, follow the steps below.
Installation and Usage
- Download the Malwarebytes free download from http://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/
- Click on Download Free under For Windows or For Mac if you are using a Mac
- Select personal computer
- To begin the setup, click Install
- Click Skip this for Malwarebytes Browser Guard for Free
- Malwarebytes will Install, click Get started
- Click Finish
- Malwarebytes should open the dashboard show below. Click the Scan tab at the middle of the dashboard
- Scan will start
- Review Threat Scan results. Record the folder path as the Quarantine button will not work on the free trial version. Once you have located the item in question, delete it
