Installing Microsoft Teams

Explains how to download and install Microsoft Teams by signing in at office.com with your StarID and selecting the desktop or web app.

Overview

This article is for staff, faculty, and students and gives step by step instructions to download Microsoft Teams on a computer.

How-To

Install Microsoft Teams:

1. Go to office.com.

2. Sign in using your StarID credentials:

   • Students: StarID@go.minnstate.edu

   • Staff and Faculty: StarID@minnstate.edu

   • Enter your StarID password when prompted.

3. Select the App Launcher (also called the “waffle icon”) in the upper‑left corner of the page.

4. Select the Teams icon.

5. Choose Get Windows App to download the desktop version of Microsoft Teams.

6. If you prefer, you may also use the web version of Teams instead of installing the app.
