How do I get connect to eduroam from my chromebook?

Overview

eduroam is the preferred secure Wi-Fi network for all students, faculty and staff to use with their personally owned devices. Enroll your device to enjoy Wi-Fi access throughout this campus as well as other eduroam-participating institutions. To connect to eduroam, you must have an active StarID account, a data or internet connection.  

Note: Directions and screen shots may differ depending on software versions
  1. Open the Chrome OS Settings App > Network > Wi-Fi > Known Networks. If "eduroam" exists, click eduroam and then click forget
  2. Go to your Wi-Fi settings and click Connect next to MavGUEST
  3. Click on Connect to Wi-Fi network The Wi-Fi network you are using (MavGUEST) may require you to visit its login page. 
  4. Choose the Temporary Login option.
  5. Enter your StarID@go.minnstate.edu (students) or StarID@minnstate.edu (employees) and StarID password.

Your chromebook device is now set up to use eduroam. It will work wherever you are throughout the world that an eduroam network is available if you are a current student or employee at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Changing your StarID password will not require any Wi-Fi related updates on your chromebook device.
