More Information About Campus Networks
Wireless and Wired Network Access
Wireless (Wi-Fi) network access is available within all University buildings, residence halls, and outdoor spaces. Wireless access is available to all students and employees using StarID. Wired (Ethernet) network access is available in all University buildings, residence halls, and special locations. Residence halls, including Stadium Heights, include a network jack and devices must be registered by the student before use.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)
The virtual private network (VPN) allows faculty, staff and students to securely access the Minnesota State Mankato campus network when they are not on campus, including services like MavDISK. The SSL VPN service can be accessed using either a VPN client or through your web browser. VPN uses Cisco AnyConnect client for full use. VPN is not needed for Jabber (Jabber Direct) or Remote Desktop (Remote Desktop Direct).
