Overview
eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, global wireless network used by higher education institutions around the world. At Minnesota State University, Mankato, eduroam is the primary Wi-Fi network for students, faculty, and staff.
All state-owned university computers come pre-configured to securely connect to the eduroam network, requiring no setup from the user. If your state-owned computer is having trouble connecting to eduroam, contact the IT Solutions Center. Do not try to connect using the below instructions.
If you're using a personal device, this article will guide you through connecting and troubleshooting common issues. Once connected, eduroam provides seamless, secure internet access not only across our campus but also at thousands of participating colleges and universities worldwide.
Connecting to eduroam
Follow the instructions for your device to securely connect to eduroam.
Smart devices, E-readers, and Consoles
Some device types, such as e-readers (e.g., Kindle), smart speakers, streaming devices, game consoles, and some TVs/VR headsets, use a different setup than the steps above and may need to be requested/registered.
Troubleshooting
Sometimes eduroam setup fails, especially if your device was previously configured for another campus or network. Follow the Forgetting eduroam instructions to remove the old configuration, then return here and run the setup again.
