Overview
This article explains the network connection required to use VALT. It does not cover how to use the VALT application.
For reliable access, use Cisco Secure Client (VPN) whether you are on campus or off. Install it once, then connect the VPN each time before using VALT.
Exception: State-owned university computers connected to eduroam on campus do not need VPN and should be able to access valt.mnsu.edu directly.

Troubleshooting
If connected to VPN but still can’t reach valt.mnsu.edu:
- Disconnect and reconnect Cisco Secure Client; confirm status shows Connected.
- Clear your browser cache/cookies or try a different browser or a private window.
- Restart your device and try again.
