How do I install Perceptive Content / ImageNow Client?

How-To

  1.  Download the Installer. Go to: http://my.mnsu.edu/imagenow/help.html Sign in with your StarID. Download the Perceptive Content Client installer.

  2. Log in as Administrator. Sign in to the computer using a local Administrator account.
  3. Set Folder Permissions. Give Write access to all users for these folders:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageNow
  • C:\ProgramData\ImageNow

Note: This allows the software to save files correctly.

  1. Turn Off User Account Control (UAC)
    1. Windows 8, 8.1, or 10
      1. Open the Start screen or Start Menu.
      2. Search for UAC.
      3. Open User Account Control Settings.
      4. Move the slider to the bottom (“Never Notify”).
      5. Prepare the Installer
  2. Copy the Client.exe file to your desktop.

    1. Run the Installer
    2. Right‑click Client.exe and choose Run as Administrator.
    3. Accept the license agreement. Scroll to the bottom so the Next button becomes active.
    4. When you see Custom Setup, make sure all features are set to install on the local hard drive.
    5. Enter Server Information

When prompted, enter:

  • Profile Name: Perceptive Content

  • Server Name: dimm.campus.mnsu.edu

  • Port Number: 6000

Note: If the server name does not work, you may use the IP address 134.29.35.14. (If this happens, DNS should be corrected later.)

  1. Leave the PEDS Screen Blank

Note: When you reach the Deployment (PEDS) screen, do not enter anything. Continue the installation.

  1. Finish the Installation. Follow the remaining prompts until the installation is complete.

Outcome

You should see the below login screen upon opening the Perceptive Content desktop icon.
