Displaying Quiz Results in D2L Brightspace

Overview

This article explains how instructors can customize what students see after completing a quiz in D2L Brightspace. Using Quiz Results Display options, instructors can control whether students see scores, feedback, questions, or answers and when that information becomes available.

These settings allow you to show feedback without revealing correct answers and to schedule when quiz results or answers are released.

Use the Quiz Results Display options to customize what students see after they take a quiz attempt.

To customize the Quiz Results Display in a D2L Brightspace quiz:

1. Edit the Quiz.
2. Click the arrow next to the Evaluation & Feedback widget to expand the widget.
3. Check the box next to Auto-publish attempt results immediately upon completion to immediately display the results you select to students in Quizzes.
4. Check the box next to Synchronize to grade book on publish to also publish quiz display results to students in Grades.
5. Under the 'When published, display to learners' menu:
   1. Check the box next to Attempt grade to display the quiz attempt overall score to students.
   2. From the drop down menu, select a display option. Note: The default choice is "No questions"

Next, add an additional view to the quiz, if you like:

1. Click the Customize Quiz Results Displays link.
2. Scroll down and click the +Additional View link.
3. Select your Additional view options, including:
   1. Release view at a specific date/time.
   2. Release view based on a specific attempt and attempt grade.
   3. Limit the amount of time the view is available to students after submission.
   4. Add a custom message to the view.
   5. Customize the Grade and Question display options.
4. Then click the Create button. Note: Sometimes you have to scroll down in the pop-up window to find the Create button.
5. Click the Ok button.
6. The additional view will now appear in the Evaluation & Feedback widget.
7. Click Save and Close.
