How do I find my lost iPhone?

Overview

If you lose your iPhone there are two ways you can locate it. One is tracking your phone using iCloud and the other is with an Apple device itself, i.e., iPad, Apple Watch.

Note: You need to make sure that the Find My option is enabled in all your Apple Devices. Click here for the steps to enable the Find My option.   1. Tracking your phone using iCloud

If you have an iPhone and no other Apple device, you can still track your iPhone from a Windows laptop or a MacBook.

 

  1. Log in to iCloud using your Apple ID on any web browser.

 

  1. Once you log in, there is an option called Find iPhone. Click on it and it will show you the location of where your phone is.

  1. On iPad

 

  1. Use the Find My app in your iPad to track your iPhone.

 

  1. Under the tab Devices you can tap on your iPhone and track its most recent location.
  2. You can also play a sound from your iPhone, get directions to your iPhone or display a custom message with a contact information using the Find My app.

 

  1. In worst case scenarios, you can also erase data from your iPhones.  

 

  1. Using Apple Watch

 

  1. Press the Digital Crown button to return to the watch face.

 

  1. Swipe up from bottom of the watch face. It should show your iPhone at the top as Connected in green text.

 

  1. Tap the Find iPhone button in the bottom left corner. This will create a sound from your phone, and you can locate it.
