Downloading Assignments Submissions in D2L Brightspace

Overview

This article explains how instructors can download student assignment submissions from D2L Brightspace as a compressed (.zip) file. Downloading submissions allows instructors to store, review, or archive assignment files outside of D2L Brightspace.

Assignment submissions are downloaded in bulk and saved to a local computer or portable storage device.

Download your students’ Assignments submissions to a .zip file to save outside of D2L Brightspace:

1. From the course homepage, Click the Assessments menu.
2. Click Assignments from the menu.
3. Click the menu arrow to the right of the Assignment you wish to export.
4. Click the View Submissions option.
   
5. Scroll down and locate the pagination menu in the bottom right corner of the submission table.
6. Select 200 per a page from the menu. Note: If you have more than 200 students in your course, you will need to repeat steps 7. to 10. for each page of submissions.
   
7. Check the box in the top left corner of the submissions table to select all of the submissions on the page.
8. Click the Download icon at the top of the table.
   
9. A pop-up window will appear, when the export is complete, click the Download button.
10. Save the .zip file to your choice of locations or folders on your local drive or portable storage device.
