Forgetting the eduroam Wi-Fi Network

Summary

Fix eduroam connection errors by forgetting the saved network on your device, then use the Connecting to eduroam Wi-Fi guide to reconnect.

Body

Overview

Forgetting a saved Wi-Fi network removes old settings that can cause connection errors. This is often the fastest way to fix password or network authentication errors when reconnecting to eduroam.

When to use this: Your device previously connected to eduroam and now fails to join or keeps asking for a password, or you recently changed your StarID password.

Note: State-owned university computers are centrally managed. Do not use these steps on a state-owned device—contact the IT Solutions Center instead.

Before you begin

  • Forgetting a network removes its saved settings; you’ll reconnect afterward.

  • Have your StarID credentials ready to set eduroam back up.

  1. Open SettingsConnections (or Network & internet).

  2. Tap Wi-Fi.

  3. Press and hold eduroam (or tap the gear icon).
