Overview
This article explains how to sign in to the Zoom desktop application on a Windows computer using a Minnesota State StarID. It is intended for students, faculty, and staff who need to access Zoom meetings from their personal or work computer.
How-To
- Open the Zoom application. You can do this by searching for "Zoom" in the lower left hand side. If you do not yet have Zoom installed, you can download it for free from the Zoom download page.
- Select Sign In
- Select Sign in with SSO
- Enter minnstate into the field, then select Continue
- Upon selecting Continue, your web browser will open onto a Minnesota State sign on page
- Enter your StarID and Password, then select Sign On
- Upon selecting Sign on, your browser will navigate to a minnstate.zoom.us page and will prompt you to Open Zoom Meetings
- NOTE: After 7 attempts, Zoom locks your account for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the user should be able to try again
- Select Open Zoom Meetings from the prompt
- If it does not automatically prompt you, select Launch Zoom on the webpage
- Your Zoom application should now be logged in
Outcome
The user is successfully signed in to the Zoom desktop application using their Minnesota State StarID.
