Signing into Zoom on iPhone or Android Using University Account

Overview

This article explains how to sign in to Zoom on a mobile device using a Minnesota State StarID. It is intended for students, faculty, and staff who want to access Zoom meetings on iPhone or Android devices. 

How-To

  1. Download the Zoom app from the Apple App Store or Download the Zoom app from the Google Play Store

Note: This tutorial was made using an iPhone but the steps are nearly identical for Android devices.

  1.  Open the Zoom app
  2.  Select Sign in
  3.  Select SSO
  4.  Enter minnstate into the field, then select go
  5.  Your web browser will open onto signon.minnstate.edu. Enter your StarID and Password, then select Sign On

NOTE: After 7 attempts, zoom locks your account for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the user should be able to try again

  1.  Your web browser will prompt you to Open this page in Zoom. Select Open
  2.   Your Zoom app should now open and be signed into your University Zoom account

Outcome

The user is successfully signed in to the Zoom mobile app using their Minnesota State StarID.
