Logging into Zoom on Mac Using University Account

Overview

This article explains how to sign in to Zoom on a Mac computer using a Minnesota State StarID. It is intended for students, faculty, and staff who want to access Zoom meetings through their Minnesota State account.

How-To

Install the Zoom application on your Mac computer. (How to Install on Mac instructions from Zoom)

  1. Start the Zoom application
  2. Select Sign In
  3. Select Sign In with SSO
  4. Enter minnstate into the Your company domain field, then select Continue
  5. Upon selecting Continue, your web browser will open onto a Minnesota State sign on page. Enter your StarID and Password and select Sign On

NOTE: After 7 attempts, zoom locks your account for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, the user should be able to try again

 

  1. Upon selecting Sign on, your browser will navigate to a minnstate.zoom.us page and will prompt you to Open zoom.us. Select Open zoom.us from the prompt. If it does not automatically prompt you, select Launch Zoom on the webpage
  2. Your Zoom application should now be logged in as shown below

Outcome

The user is successfully signed in to Zoom on their Mac using a Minnesota State StarID.
