Changing Your Name On Zoom

Overview

You can rename yourself on the Zoom clients and your account profile in Zoom to keep your name up to date across the platform.

Change Your Name in the Zoom Web Portal

1. Sign in. Go to the Zoom web portal and sign in.
2. Open Your Profile. In the left‑side menu, click Profile.
3. Edit Your Name. Next to your profile name, click Edit.
4. Update Your Account Name. Type your First Name and Last Name.
5. Update Your Display Name. Type the name you want others to see in Zoom (this can be your first name, full name, or a nickname).
6. Save Your Change. Click Save.

Change Your Name in the Zoom Desktop or Mobile App

1. Sign in. Open the Zoom app and sign in using your university account. (Choose the instructions for Windows, Mac, iPhone/Android, or Chromebook.)
2. Open Settings. Select your profile picture and select Settings.
3. Go to Your Profile. Select Profile. Note, you can also click My Profile. This will open the Zoom web portal in your browser, where you can edit your name.
4. Edit Your Profile. Select Edit My Profile. A web browser window will open.
5. Update Your Name. Edit your name in the Zoom web portal using the same steps listed above.
