Respondus: Enable Respondus LockDown Browser

 How do I set-up LockDown Browser? How do I add Respondus to Quizzes in D2L Brightspace?

Overview

Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within D2L Brightspace Quizzes.

To set-up LockDown Browser:

1. Navigate to your D2L Brightspace course.
2. Click the Assessments menu on the course homepage.
3. Click Quizzes from the menu.

Note: You will need to create your Quiz before setting up LockDown Browser.

4. Click the LockDown Browser tab.

5. You will see a LockDown Browser start page, click Continue to LockDown Browser.

Note: Sometimes it takes several minutes for this page to load. Wait 5 minutes and then refresh the page if it still does not load.

6. Click the arrow next to the Quiz you wish to set-up LockDown Browser in.
7. Click Settings from the menu.

8. Select Require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam.
9. Check or Uncheck Require LockDown Browser to view feedback and results according to your preference.
10. Click the Plus + sign next to Advanced Settings.
11. Check Allow students to take this exam with an iPad if you wish students to be able to use iPads.
12. Check the box next to any additional additional advanced settings you wish to allow.
13. Click the Save + Close button.
