Respondus: Allow Live Proctoring with LockDown Browser

Question

How do I use Respondus LockDown Browser during classes held on Zoom or Microsoft Teams?

Overview

To set-up Live Proctoring online with Zoom or Teams Meetings with Lock Down Browser:

  1. Navigate to Quizzes in your course.
  2. Click the LockDown Browser tab
  3. You will see a LockDown Browser start pageclick Continue to LockDown Browser.

Note: Sometimes it takes several minutes for this page to load. Wait 5 minutes and refresh the page if it still does not load.

  1. Click the arrow next to the Quiz you wish to set-up Live Proctoring with LockDown Browser in.

  1. Click Settings from the menu.
  2. Select Require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam.
  3. Under Proctoring, Select Allow instructor live proctoring for this exam
  4. Select your video conference system, Zoom or Teams.
  5. Enter a Start code

Live proctoring options let you select the video conferencing system and add a start code

Note: The Start code is a password you will share with students after everyone has arrived in the video conference meeting room to allow them to begin the Quiz with LockDown Browser.

  1. You can choose to include additional instructions to students by checking the box next to Include additional Instructions to students.
  2. If you’d like to customize the text in your additional instructions, click the Edit Text link.
  3. Click the Save + Close button.
