How do I get connect to eduroam from my Mac computer?

Overview

eduroam is the preferred secure Wi-Fi network for all students, faculty and staff to use with their personally owned devices. Enroll your device to enjoy Wi-Fi access throughout this campus as well as other eduroam-participating institutions. To connect to eduroam, you must have an active StarID account, a data or internet connection. 

First Time Setup - Off Campus

1. Open a web browser and navigate to wifi.mnsu.edu

2. Follow Steps 6-12 of the On Campus Directions.

First Time Setup - On Campus

1.  Open your Wi-Fi settings, tap on MavGUEST to connect

2. A browser should appear as shown below

  1. Select Set Up eduroam  
  2. Select Continue 
  3. You will see a screen that directs you to click Done > Open Safari > Navigate to wifi.mnsu.edu 

6.  The system should automatically pull the correct Operating System, select Sign In

  1. A browser window will open. Sign in with your StarID and password 
  2. The next screen you will click JoinNow

  1. You may receive a popup asking to allow downloads, select Allow. It will begin the download for the WiFi Certificate.

  1. Once the download is complete, go to System Preferences > Profiles.

NOTE: For Mac Ventura - Privacy and Security > Profiles.

  1. Select Minnesota State University Mankato eduroam MobileConfig and install. You will receive another pop up to approve install.

  1. Enter your password to allow Install
  2. Once you see the message Joined, press Done to close the program
  3. Your Mac should now be connected to the eduroam Wi-Fi network if eduroam is available where your Mac is located.
  4. If it's not connected, select eduroam and click connect.
