Navigate 360: Student Workers - Quick Guide

Overview

Student workers are set up in Navigate360 to support various departments on-campus. Their role in Navigate360 focuses on scheduling appointments, being able to find general student information to support students looking for assistance, and checking in students through the kiosk system.

NOTE: These instructions do not apply to Student Employees (or GAs) who have employee-level credentials. See the login information for GAs/TAs in the MSU OneStop Knowledge Base.

Note: As of Fall 25 MavCONNECT has been rebranded as Navigate360.

Both names refer to to the same system which was implemented in Fall 2023 and took the place of our Starfish-based system.

The Navigate360 Student App is known as Navigate360. Therefore, to reduce confusion, we have rebranded the entire system to simply Navigate360. Faculty and staff may continue to use "MavCONNECT" when referring to the system; however, know that MavCONNECT and Navigate360 mean the same thing and refer to the same system.

Appointment Scheduling Functionality

Student workers can set up appointments in Navigate360 in two areas: on a student’s profile and through the Appointment Center.

Scheduling From the Student Profile

1. Log into Navigate360 and ensure you are on your “Staff” profile (see above).

2. Using the top search bar, enter in the student’s tech ID, StarID, or, if needed, their first name/last name. Best practice is to use their techID and/or StarID as this is the most accurate way to ensure you are pulling the right student.

Adding Prospective Students into Navigate360

Student workers who have the Create a Student permission can add a new prospective student from the Quick Links panel on Staff Home. It is CRITICAL that you search for a student in Navigate360 and possibly ISRS before creating a new student account to ensure that the student truly needs a prospective student status in the system to avoid duplicate accounts.

1. Click Create a Student. The Create a New Student dialog appears.

Create a new student action link.2. Enter the student's First Name, Last Name, Student ID (optional), Email, Date of Birth, and  Zip Code. Set the student's classification to Prospective. ***If the student has an ISRS account and you can access it, please make sure information you are entering into Navigate360 matches ISRS data.***

Create a New Student information screen.

3. If a Prospective Student also has an enrolled Student Profile, ALL users (not just those who can merge students) see a yellow banner at the top of the prospective and enrolled versions of the Student Profile.

Yellow alert banner.

There is also the View Options button to see details. However, what you see differs based on whether you have the Merge Users permission.

At this time, only Navigate360 administrators have Merge access so if you find profiles that may need to be merged, please email navigate360@mnsu.edu with the student’s name, ID if available, and any other information that could be helpful.
