Connecting to eduroam Wi-Fi with iPhone (iOS)

This article is for students, faculty, and staff to connect to eduroam on a personal iPhone.

Personal Devices: Equipment owned and maintained by individual users.

Instructions

eduroam is the preferred secure Wi-Fi network for all students, faculty and staff to use with their personally owned devices. Enroll your device to enjoy Wi-Fi access throughout this campus as well as other eduroam -participating institutions. To connect to eduroam, you must have an active StarID account, a data or internet connection.  

Note: Directions and screen shots may differ depending on software versions

1. If you have previously installed a profile for Minnesota State or other institution's eduroam, we recommend removing that before proceeding. See Removing Minnstate eduroam profile (iOS)
2. Ensure your iPhone has internet access or a data connection 
3. Open a web browser and go to wifi.mnsu.edu (this works both on and off campus).
4. The system should automatically detect your Operating System, select Sign In.
4. Sign in with your StarID login and password 
   • Students & Alumni = StarID@go.minnstate.edu
   • Current Employees = StarID@minnstate.ed
5. If a pop up appears asking to allow downloads, select Allow.
6. On the next screen, click JoinNow.

6. Select Install to install Minnesota State University Mankato eduroam MobileConfig. 
7. Enter your password to allow the installation. 
8. Once you see the message Joined, press Done to close the program.
9. Go to Settings. You should see a new tab under iCloud profile that says Profile Downloaded.

10. Click on it and Install the profile 

11. Go to Wifi and choose eduroam. It will connect automatically

 Your iPhone is now set up to use eduroam. It will work wherever you are throughout the world that an eduroam network is available if you are a current student or employee at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Changing your StarID password will not require any Wi-Fi related updates on your iPhone.
