Description
IT Solutions manages the emergency notification system across campus that provides urgent communications during campus emergencies through audio broadcasts, computer pop-up alerts, and text and email notifications. These tools help quickly share critical safety information with the University community. Coverage is available at the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus and Minnesota State University, Edina campus (voice broadcasts are not available at the Edina location).
Key Features
- Emergency voice broadcasts delivered through Yealink desk phones and select fire alarm systems on the Mankato campus.
- Emergency pop-up notifications sent to University-owned computers through the Alertus application.
- Text message and email notifications through StarAlert. Faculty, staff, and students can subscribe to StarAlert. Students may also subscribe their parents or family.
- Department-specific emergency call buttons for Yealink desk phones that can be configured to call for help, act as a public address system or notify others in event of an emergency. For example, a nurse-call button.
