This service supports technology that is used for teaching across the campus. This includes tools that are specific to the teaching process for both online and face-to-face classes.

Active Teaching and Learning Tools

This service allows faculty to explore active learning platforms in their instruction. Active learning platforms are multimedia websites and software that allow instructors to create and archive content and activities under one digital roof, integrate with our learning management system, facilitate the integration of Open Educational Resources or traditional materials, and provide opportunities for instructors to provide engaging and effective learning activities.

Invigilation / Anti-Plagiarism

Anti-plagiarism software equips educators with the tools needed in order to effectively check the originality and integrity of a student's work. Invigilation, or the process of ensuring that students are taking their own exams, includes a range of approaches and technologies that can help bring rigor to the testing process for online and blended assessments.

Our fully supported tools are:

  • Turnitin
  • Respondus Lockdown Browser
  • Respondus Monitor  
  • Camera request for proctoring spaces (request camera placement for specialized proctoring locations such as testing centers)

Online Surveys

Online surveys are a type of audience response system. Online surveys can be used by faculty, staff, and students for teaching, research, and administrative purposes. 

Our fully supported tools are:

  • Qualtrics
  • Microsoft Forms

Screen and Lecture Capture

Lecture capture refers to the process of recording a lecture that the instructor will place on the Web for students to watch online. This practice can be used in both face-to-face courses and in fully online classes. There are specific classrooms that are set up for classroom recording, or you may schedule a time in the HD Recording Studio.

  • Classroom lecture capture (there are specific classrooms on campus that are set up for a faculty member to do video lectures)
