The Information Security team identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks related to information security. This involves evaluating potential threats, vulnerabilities, and impacts to ensure the integrity of information assets, as well as educating and spreading awareness about cybersecurity threats and best practices.
Cybersecurity Awareness
Cybersecurity Awareness involves being mindful of cybersecurity in day-to-day situations at home and at work. The Information Security team educates campus on cybersecurity threats and best practices with awareness campaigns and training resources. Risk Assessment
The Information Security team provides informal advice on relevant data security regulations, policies, standards and guidelines (MGDPA, FERPA, HIPAA, PCI, etc). The team provides risk and governance reviews of new and existing systems and software.
Policy/Standard Exception
The Information Security team evaluates the risk to data for exceptions to polices and/or standards. Determination for exceptions will be made by the Vice President/CIO for IT Solutions.
