Employee Phone Services

Description  

IT Solutions provides support for employee telecommunications, including telephone, voicemail, text messaging (SMS), conference calling services, and more. The university phone system is Zoom Phone, available via the app or a traditional desk phone.

  • Meet Me Conferencing (up to 100 callers, individual callers responsible for charges). 
  • Six-party conferencing (up to six parties, costs covered by the department). 
  • Conference Now (setup by IT Solutions required prior to each call).

Cost 

• Zoom Phone: $16.50 per user per month. Standard desk phones are provided at no cost; upgrade options may incur additional charges.  
• International calling and texting: View Zoom Phone international calling and SMS Rates 
• University-issued cell phones and hotspots: Charges vary based on the device, accessories, and selected plan. 
• All long distance phone toll charges are billed back.

Special Requests

• Hot Spots: University-issued cell phone and mobile hotspot services are available based on carrier network availability.
• International Calling with Zoom Phone: Submit a request in Maverick One Stop for international calling with Zoom Phone (list every country you may need to call in the request).
• Zoom Call Queue: Submit a request in Maverick One Stop for a departmental call queue.
• University-Issued Cell Phone Service: Review Minnesota State policies and complete the Cell Phone Review Form (requires approval from department). To request an international plan, see International Phone Plan Request.

Policies and Compliance 

This service complies with Minnesota State University, Mankato and Minnesota State system policies, including:      

• Information, Privacy, and Security Policy  
• Minnesota Government Data Practices Act (MGDPA) 
• Emergency Notification 
• Use of cell phones must comply with Minnesota State Mankato and Minnesota State system policies. 
• Review and approval are required for business use of mobile devices.
