Network Limitations and Important Considerations

  • MavGUEST provides general internet access. Guests can connect without a password through their device’s Wi-Fi settings.
  • Availability may vary by building; check in advance if your location is supported.
  • MavGUEST places devices outside the university firewall, so some internal services may not be accessible.

Outcome

  • Guests can connect to campus Wi-Fi by selecting MavGUEST and completing the welcome/guest connection steps.
  • Faculty and staff can provide temporary event-specific Wi-Fi through the MavGUEST Event Request Form.
  • Users gain general internet access, but some internal university systems remain unavailable.
  • Wi-Fi availability depends on the building, so locations should be checked in advance.
