Notice: Microsoft is ending support for text and call multi-factor authentication options on February 1, 2027. The Microsoft Authenticator app will be the default authentication method. If you currently use text or call as your primary or backup authentication method, you'll be required to switch to the app.

Description  

IT Solutions provides support, management, and troubleshooting for StarIDs and multi-factor authentication at Minnesota State University, Mankato. StarID accounts are automatically created by the Minnesota State System Office for all current students, faculty, and staff. 

Key Features 

  • Resolving StarID issues: StarIDs not working, multi-factor authentication issues, and duplicate or incorrect StarIDs. 
  • StarID account creation for special users: StarID accounts can be requested via a current staff member for special users, including MavCard and email access. This includes vendors, contractors, student worker employee accounts, and other affiliated cohorts such as bank employees, bookstore employees, CE teachers, consultants, dining services employees, Military Science/ROTC, Otto Rec employees, religious institutions, RSO advisors, TOSA, or visiting scholars. Note, StarIDs are automatically created for current students, faculty, and staff. 
  • Multi-factor authentication: Support for multi-factor authentication setup, issues, and exceptions.
