Overview
Prospective students can use Transferology or TES Public view to gain an understanding of how their credits will transfer to Minnesota State University Mankato.
Transfer of Credit Tools and Resources
Transferology is designed to help students explore how their college credits will transfer between institutions. Prospective students can enter their credit from various schools and see how it applies to MSU Mankato. This tool allows for course-by-course review. Students can also use this as a resource to find equivalent courses at other institutions.
TES Public View is a feature of the Transfer Evaluation System (TES) that allows colleges and universities to publicly share their transfer equivalencies, articulation agreements, and transfer guides with prospective students and advisors. TES Public View allows a student to see all equivalencies per institution, rather than by course-by-course.
Official evaluation of transfer credit occurs after the student has been admitted to MSU Mankato.
FAQ
How do I send my transcripts from Non-Minnstate schools (University of Minnesota, out of state schools, private schools, AP, IB, CLEP, etc.)?
Transcripts and test scores from non-Minnstate institutions should be sent directly to the Office of Admissions.
- If you indicated Minnstate college credit on your admissions application, those transcripts will be automatically retrieved during the admission process.
- If you did not indicate Minnstate college credit on your application, you must request that your transcripts be pulled by the Registration and Academic Records Office. Please select Transfer of Credit.
Can I submit my high school transcript to receive credit for college-level courses (AP, IB, CLEP, or dual enrollment) taken during high school?
No, MSU Mankato does not accept high school transcripts for awarding college credit—even if they list AP, IB, CLEP, or dual enrollment courses. The credit must be sent directly from the institution or testing organization that granted it (e.g., College Board for AP, IB Organization, CLEP, or the college that issued dual enrollment credit).
Can I receive credit for a Minnesota Bilingual Seal and World Language Proficiency Certificate?
Yes. Students must provide a copy of the certificate to Registration and Academic Records. The certificate will indicate language, proficiency level achieved, and grade the test was taken. Students can submit the certificates to Registration and Academic Records.
