What is the Instructor Profile widget? | How do I update the Instructor Profile widget in D2L Brightspace? | How can I add office hours or Zoom meeting info to the widget?
Overview
The Instructor Profile widget on D2L Brightspace course offering homepages is designed to automatically share information about Instructors enrolled in the course.
The information is automatically added from the course Classlist and each Instructor’s Profile information in D2L Brightspace.
The default information shared is the Instructor’s name and email address. You can also optionally choose to add:
- Profile picture
- Title
- Campus/Office Building Address (opens in Google Maps)
- Office Location
- Office Phone Number
- Your LinkedIn and/or Twitter social media profile
- Online Office/Zoom Meeting link
- Additional Course info like Zoom passcode, Office Hours, etc…
You can add additional optional information to the Instructor Profile widget by editing your D2L Brightspace profile information:
- Navigate to a course offering.
- Click on Edit My Profile in the Instructor Profile widget.
- Then update the items in your Profile you would like add to the Instructor Profile widget.

Enter information in the Office Number field for the Office room number and enter information in the Office Phone field for phone number.

Enter your profile web address in the Twitter and/or LinkedIn fields.

Add Additional Information
You can add additional optional information to the Instructor Profile widget by editing the widget:
- Navigate to a course offering.
- Click the Edit this information button in the Instructor Profile widget.
- Enter information in the Additional Course Info, Online Meeting Name, and Online Meeting URL fields, like:
- Online Office/Class Zoom Meeting link
- Additional Course info like Zoom MeetingID, Office Hours, etc…
- Click on submit.
