What is Technology Asset Management?
We manage the life cycle of University owned technology assets* from purchase through retirement to help keep campus secure. This includes ensuring the secure destruction of University data residing on University owned assets, managing recycled and surplus computer assets, and managing the reallocation and tracking of technology assets.
*What's a technology asset? Anything that has the ability to permanently store data. This can include items such as computers, phones, and tablets.

Report Changes to Technology Assets
Fill out our online form to report any changes to University assets under your responsibility.
This helps us keep our records up to date and keep the University secure. Updates might include things like a new device, a transferred device, a lost device, or other changes.

Recycle Old Technology
This is the official University method for securely disposing of or reallocating State assets that are electronic storage devices – for example, computers, desktops, laptops, tablets, and external hard drives. Equipment pick-up options are available. Submit a ticket for assistance.
Transfer an Asset to Another Employee
All desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and phones must be sent to IT Solutions for a software refresh any time they are transferred from one person to another. Not only does this help us keep our inventory current, we also ensure that the device’s software is up to date and any personal information is securely erased. Submit a ticket for assistance.
Technology Moves
We can help with tagging, disassembling and reassembling any connecting technology hardware for administrative moves between offices and buildings. Submit a ticket for assistance.
Technology Asset Inventory
Each year we complete an annual Technology Asset Inventory Verification as a part of Minnesota State requirements and to keep you and our University safe. Watch for official communications from our team when action is needed. Throughout the year, review your asset records and report any changes.
