Forgetting the eduroam Wi-Fi Network

Overview

This article is for students, faculty, and staff who may be experiencing WI-Fi connection errors. Forgetting a saved Wi-Fi network removes old settings that can cause connection errors. This is often the fastest way to fix password or network authentication errors when reconnecting to eduroam.

When to Use These Instructions

Your device previously connected to eduroam and now fails to join or keeps asking for a password, or you recently changed your StarID password. Note: State-owned university computers are centrally managed. Do not use these steps on a state-owned device—contact the IT Solutions Center instead.

How-To

Before you Begin

  • Forgetting a network removes its saved settings; you’ll reconnect afterward.
  • Have your StarID credentials ready to set eduroam back up.

Android

  1. Open Settings, then Connections (or Network & internet).
  2. Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Press and hold eduroam (or tap the gear icon).
  4. Tap Forget.

Chromebook
