Questions - How do I request enrollment of a co-instructor in D2L Brightspace?
Adding a Co-Instructor in D2L Brightspace, requires the co-instructor being listed as an Instructor of Record for the course in the University Registration system, or for the department/college's administrative staff to fill out the Add New Instructor of Record form. Add a Teacher's Assistant
A TA has the same privileges as an instructor in D2L but is limited by section restrictions. The TA role for academic courses is to be limited to employees who have the job designation of Teaching Assistants or have a similar job designation.
Use our Add a Teacher's Assistant form to fast track your request directly to the D2L Brightspace team in IT Solutions.
Note: If the Teacher's Assistant is an officially listed Instructor of Record in the University Registration system, no action is needed, they will be auto-enrolled into the course.
To submit a TA enrollment request:
- Click the Add a Teacher's Assistant button in the top right corner of this article.
- You may be prompted to sign in with your MavMail credentials first.
- Complete and submit the form.
Add a Co-Instructor
Co-Instructors must be added as an Instructor of Record in eServices/Course Input. This ensures that we are in compliance with Minnesota State and Federal regulations (such as FERPA). To have a co-instructor added to an academic course in D2L, you can either:
- Contact your department's administrative staff and have the co-instructor added in Course Input/eServices. Once that is done, it will be automatically reflected in D2L. Other departments/colleges have multiple instructors for a course listed in eServices/Course Input without issue.
- Or you can have your department's/college's administrative staff fill out the Add New Instructor of Record form.
