The MinnSate ID (Employee ID), State of MN Employee ID (SEMA4 ID), Tech ID, and Sta ID are all unique identifiers for an employee at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
MinnState ID
Minnstate ID is a new system-wide identifier for employees and students. Your Minnestate ID is also your Employee ID in Workday. This is different than your State of Minnesota Employee ID used to login to Employee Self Service for training, benefits, and viewing your paycheck.
State of Minnesota Employee ID
Your State of MN ID is available in Workday under the ID tab in the Overview menu. It is listed as SEMA4 ID in Workday. This is the ID used to login to Employee Self Service for training, benefits, and viewing your paycheck.
Tech ID
Tech IDs are not stored in Workday. Tech IDs will still be assigned and available in ISRS only until the Workday Student Implementation (estimated 2027). After the Student Implementation is complete, Tech IDs will no longer be used.
StarID
This is your username to login to various systems, including computers, Microsoft 365, and Workday.
In Workday, your email address shows as starid@minnstate.edu. NOTE: This is not an email address (though it looks and functions like one) and should NOT be shared outside of the Minnesota State system.
