Overview
This article explains how to customize your Zoom Personal Meeting Room using minnstate.zoom.us. It is intended for Minnesota State faculty and staff who want to set up a secure, personalized meeting space for classes, meetings, or other virtual sessions.
How-To
- Start by going to minnstate.zoom.us
- Select Sign in
- Enter your StarID and Password, and then select Sign on
- In the Meetings section, select Personal Meeting Room

- Select Edit this Meeting (you will possibly need to scroll down to find this button)
- Select Change to customize your Personal Meeting ID. You are encouraged to use your 10-digit University telephone number if you have one
- In the Security section, select Waiting Room, select passcode, and enter your desired passcode
- In the Video section, select On for Host and Participant
- In the Audio section select Both
- Select your preferred meeting options. Additionally, in the Alternative Hosts field enter the email address of the person that you want to share meeting controls with. An example of this would be an Academic Support Student Worker that is assisting with managing your classroom

- Select Save when finished
Outcome
The user is able to customize their Zoom Personal Meeting Room with a unique Meeting ID, passcode, waiting room, video and audio settings, and alternative hosts.
