Overview
This article helps user to delete a draft rubric that is associated with an assignment.
How- TO
These steps are only to be taken in an instance the status of a rubric has been changed from published to draft, while it was still associated with an assignment.
Delete an associated Rubric
- Navigate to the Rubrics page in your D2L Brightspace course, by clicking on Assessments in the navbar, then scrolling down to Rubrics.

- Identify the Rubric that you would like to detach and delete. NOTE: A Rubric that is associated with an assessment will have a chain-link symbol next to the title. In this case, we are looking for a rubric that is a draft and has a chain-link symbol.
- Click on the arrow next to the Rubric.
- Select Set Status in the drop-down list.
- When the new drop-down list appears, select Published.


- Then, navigate to the assessment (an Assignment or Discussion) that the Rubric was associated with to edit it.
For this example, we are editing an assignment.

- The Rubric should appear to be associated with the assessment. Click on the "X" symbol next to the rubric to detach it from the assignment.
- Click save and close on the Edit Assignments page.
- Navigate back to the Rubrics page.
- Check the box on the left of the Rubric you would like to delete.
- Click on the Trash can icon above your list of rubrics to delete.

- Click delete on the confirmation pop-up.
